Collaborative Drawing Workshops With CRE8 Foundation
We are proud to announce the successful finish of the first phase of Thaillywood’s very first collaborative art project with CRE8 Foundation and the kids of local school, Nongjetjai,
The Drawing Animation Sound project, “D.A.S.” for short, is one CRE8 Foundation’s most exciting collaborative art projects to date, and Thaillywood is excited to be playing a part. With D.A.S project, CRE8′s goal is to connect kids from three far-off corners of the world—Thailand, the USA and Colombia—to work together to create one, truly one-of-a-kind animated film.
Thaillywood’s first artist resident and CRE8 Foundation Creative Director, Ole Ukena, with the assistance of other CRE8 team members, led the drawing workshops with the kids of Nongjetjai this past summer in Thailand. The kids here had so much fun learning to trust their creative instincts. We were amazed to see the truly imaginative results!
The drawings have now been shipped to the USA where students and local artists in Los Angles, California will transform the drawings into stop-motion animation. Finally, kids in Colombia, South America will be putting on the final touches by adding a soundtrack to this collaborative masterpiece.
Stay tuned for the final film as well as a full-length documentary about the process (sneak preview coming soon!).
For now, here is a sneak peak at some photos from the workshops. Enjoy!
